Take this screener if…

  • You have trouble with spelling, reading fluency, or sequencing information.

  • You often misread words, skip lines, or lose your place when reading.

  • Learning new words or non-native languages feels especially difficult.

  • You rely on workarounds like audiobooks or spell‑check programs often.

This brief screener is designed to help adults identify traits commonly associated with dyslexia, including challenges with reading, spelling, and written expression.

While not a diagnostic tool, it offers insight into patterns that may suggest the presence of a learning difference related to language processing.

13 Questions

Who It’s For:

Adults (18+) who experience persistent struggles with reading fluency, spelling accuracy, or written communication—and who may wonder if undiagnosed dyslexia could be a contributing factor.

Duration:

Approximately 3–5 minutes

What It Measures:

The questionnaire focuses on common indicators of dyslexia in adulthood, such as:

  • Word recognition and reading speed

  • Spelling consistency and accuracy

  • Letter reversals or transpositions (e.g., mixing up “b” and “d” or writing words out of order)

  • Difficulties organizing or expressing thoughts in writing

  • Challenges with reading comprehension or following written instructions

Score Interpretation

Total Score Range: 0–65

  • 0–38: Low Prevalence of Dyslexia Traits
You likely experience few to occasional difficulties with reading or writing. Dyslexia is unlikely to be a significant factor in your learning or daily functioning.

  • 39–52: High Prevalence of Dyslexia Traits
Your responses suggest persistent challenges with reading, spelling, and written expression. These difficulties may be affecting your academic, professional, or personal tasks and could benefit from further evaluation or support.

Support for Reading and Learning Differences

A high score on this screener may reflect long-standing struggles with written language—despite intelligence, effort, or education. These challenges are valid and common, and many adults discover later in life that dyslexia has played a role in their experiences.

If these difficulties are interfering with work, communication, or daily tasks, consider seeking a professional assessment. A learning specialist or neurodiversity-affirming clinician can help you access tools, strategies, and accommodations that align with your strengths.
